How much would you remember of a language you last studied and used in 2006?

In my case, obviously not much. Sigh.

Woah! I'm still mighty impressed! :D What language is that?

Lycka till!
Inte så dåligt, tror jag.

I don't speak it so perfectly either.

People can get rid of shyness, but could you really imagine yourself as a full-time teacher in Libya? I think maybe some projects would be nice, but month after month, year after year.... Home is this way, too!

bucketofdreams: Don't be too impressed - I'm honestly so bad it's almost funny... if only it weren't so embarrassing!

Finland is officially a bilingual country, the two languages being Finnish and Swedish. What you see in this post is _trying_ to be the latter :D

We have obligatory Swedish classes even in uni, and I'm currently trying to survive the first course. I have tomorrow a discussion (needless to say: in Swedish), and I'm honestly so nervous/scared I can't even sleep. Allah yestor... :D

Zora,

Tack!

I don't know about getting rid of shyness: it's been plaguing me for the last 23 years, and it doesn't look like it's leaving me be any time soon, either :D

As for being a teacher in Libya... I don't know. I think that if I were to become a teacher, enjoying the job wouldn't depend on where I do it. I grew up in Finland, and yes, it's my home, but Libya is my home too. It's where my heart truly belongs (:
I think that if I were to try it out, and found out that it was a tedious job to do, it would prove to be equally tedious being a teacher in Finland too.

But it's too early to say anything :D

HI! Eid Mubarak! I haven't visited your blog in forever. I was missing it. For a second I thought that was german. I took german back in high school and still remember some of it to have a decent conversation. Now I'm learning arabic which I absolutely love.
P.S. Happy EID!

I'm terribly sorry for being this late with my reply BUT thank you for your comment, and hope you had great Eids. I miss the blogosphere as well. Sigh.

I studied German for nine (9!!!) long years, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I suck at it. Totally :D

Jasmin,

Jorsuuuuuu! En ala mitään korjaileen, ku mul ei oo todellakaan mitään edellytyksiä moiseen :D
